Day 1:
Coastal Cool in Seaforth + Beachside Camping at Cape Hillsborough
Kick off your solo adventure with a swim, stroll, or sunrise chill at Seaforth. If you’re lucky enough to land on the first Sunday of the month, the Seaforth Mega Markets are the perfect place to browse, snack, and chat with locals. Later, cruise over to Cape Hillsborough and set up camp for the night.
Camping Tip: Staying overnight means you can step straight onto the sand in the morning for the magical sunrise wallaby experience — no bookings needed, just you and the moment.
Day 2:
Wallabies at Dawn + Farm Feels in Calen
Roll out early to watch wallabies and kangaroos greet the day on the beach. It’s pure sunrise magic — camera optional, awe guaranteed. After breakfast, head north to Calen and check in to Oh Deere Farm Stay. Take a guided farm tour, learn about sugar cane, and enjoy homemade treats like it’s the good ol’days.
Local Tip: If time allows, drop by Deep Gully Farm for handmade goodies and a goat cuddle or two.
Day 3:
Calen to Finch Hatton – MTB Thrills & Rainforest Vibes
Head west to Finch Hatton and swap country calm for adrenaline. Off Camber offers mountain bike shuttles and rentals through Finch Hatton MTB Park, set in stunning rainforest terrain. Stay the night at Flame Trees Stays and let the post-ride peace wash over you.

Day 4:
Finch Hatton to Mackay – Arts, Eats & River Views

Day 5:

Ease into the day with a visit to Mackay’s markets—Riverside (Thursday evenings) or Showgrounds (Saturday mornings). Wander through the 5th Lane Art Trail and pop into Artspace Mackay for a deeper dive. Cap off the day with a coastal run or walk along the Bluewater Trail or join a local run club for some company.

Day 6:
Sugar, Spirits & Scenic Stops in Sarina
Take the southern route to Sarina and drop into the Sarina Sugar Shed. The tours include tastings of rum, syrup, and sweets—and they’re as educational as they are delicious. Afterwards, explore the beaches or relax in the parklands. Stay overnight in Sarina or continue inland if you’re ready for the next leg.
Travel Tip: Stock up on snacks and supplies before heading further west.
Day 7:
Country Roads to Nebo & Clermont
Wind your way west to Nebo and enjoy a classic pub meal at the Nebo Hotel. Then push on to Clermont for scenic views and a bit of local history. If you’re up for it, book a scenic flight with Bush Heli to see the outback unfold from above—it’s the perfect way to reflect on a week of solo discovery.
